An Iranian potter works in the ancient tradition of frit-paste
Alan Caiger-Smith describes a chance meeting with a potter in Esfahan, Iran, still working in the tradition of frit-paste (a fore-runner of soft paste porcelain). The potter, Abbas Massoumzadeh, gave a demonstration of the ancient art. Caiger-Smith describes the process and compares it to the 14th century writings of Abu'l Qasim of Kashan.
