Cecile Johnson Soliz's perceptive use of ceramics as heat conductor
An investigation into the work of artist Cecile Johnson Soliz. Although she has worked with clay before Soliz is more at home co-ordinating rather then conducting firings for her installations. As Jeffrey Jones discovers in 'Warm' Soliz uses the heat-giving properties of ceramics to create a giant working stove – a sculpture radiating heat into the gallery.
Includes making sequence: plaster mould construction, press moulding and drying/firing plus sketch diagrams.
