Tribute to Donald Potter, sculptor, potter, teacher...
Vivienne Light traces the career of Donald (Don) Potter, who celebrated his 100th birthday in 2002. Potter was an accomplished wood-carver, working for Eric Gill in the 1930s before taking up a post at Bryanston School. Here he taught, amongst others, Mike Dodd, Richard Baterham and Terence Conran, building wood-fired kilns and encouraging an active involvement with materials.
