Grayson Perry at the Barbican
Controversial figure Grayson Perry explores sexually charged and intensely personal issues on the surface of his handbuilt vessels. His success in the mainstream contemporary art world was signalled by the purchase of 17 pots by Charles Saatchi in 2001. Kate McIntrye visits his recent retrospective and examines the reasons why Perry, who trained as fine artist, chooses clay as his medium.
