Ingenious techniques from Richard Godfrey
Once a production potter making tableware for the likes of Cranks restaurant chain, Richard Godfrey is now best known for his brightly coloured and imaginativley designed one-off wares. Still producing functional pieces – teapots, dishes, mugs – in his making sequences he demonstrates inventive ways of generating new forms with simple homemade tools.
Josie Walter visits him in his studio in Plymouth.
Technical notes include details of clay body (white earthenware), slips and a recipe for a clear glaze (1120C)
