Captivating the public with a kiln workshop
John Nuttgens describes his recent involvment with the Eden Project in Cornwall. Following a proposal to build a kiln on site he was invited to design, build and fire a wood-firing raku kiln and stage workshops for visitors to the biodomes.
The organic design is explained through diagrams and maquetes and responds to the architecture of the Eden domes.
Technical notes include the kiln building mixture for the kiln walls.
