Paul Astbury exploits the qualities of unfired clay

Paul Astbury's sculptures draw on a complex web of associations with the past, present and future. The use of unfired clay is central to its success. His slipcast objects are encased in vitrines and left to slowly disintegrate in the damp atmosphere.
