Creating a site-specific spectacle
Tom Barnett describes two projects that use a kiln firing to celebrate an event or location. At the Islington Mill in Manchester his handbuilt double-walled kiln is designed in the shape of the mill in which it is fired. In Bideford, North Devon, his kiln drew attention to the proposed International Centre for Ceramic Art.
