A look at the carefully constructed soda glazed and wood-fired tablewares of Petra Reynolds
Petra Reynolds works from Wobage Farm in Herefordshire alongside Mick and Sheila Casson. Her partner and fellow potter Jeremy Steward describes Petra's approach, which involves the unusual use of processes borrowed from dressmaking and printmaking. Forms such as teapots and serving dishes are softly folded with pleat-like seams; surface decoration is applied by drawing onto newpaper coated with layers of dark slips.
Includes wood-firing and soda details, clay and slip recipes for high temperature.
