Carol McNicoll’s retrospective, with sequence
Claudia Clare gets stuck into Carol McNicoll’s work at her retrospective, which opened at The City Art Gallery, Leicester in September 2003. McNicoll's work draws together pattern, texture and form. Her slipcast assemblages may for example combine a collection of slipcast handguns with reclining figures to make a bowl, or china poodle may trot along, carry jugs decorated with a mixture of transfers.
A two-page making sequence shows how the forms are created, plus clay and firing details (1000C). [Scroll down for image]
