Multimedia installation
'There is little doubt that ceramics, like any other visual art form, can be used to convey and interpret images and stories. But can this medium have an impact on contemporary social, political and human issues? Can it affect a viewer in a similar way to the work of a photojournalist or a documentary filmmaker?'
Emma Summers’s installations reflect her own experiences with refugees in Thailand. Carefully chosen imagery on slipcast objects and smoke firing are just some of the techniques she uses to get her message across.
Includes white crackle raku glaze recipe.
