Plumbing the depths of Svend Bayer’s pots
In this six page profile, Emma Maiden visits Svend Bayer in north Devon as he prepares work for his new exhibition at Rufford. His monumental pots reference the forms of giant Burmese water pots and Devon pitchers; their colours and patinas coaxed during a nine day firing ritual in a wood-fired anagama.
