Ceramic Review welcomes articles, long or short. Potters, students, enthusiasts and collectors read the magazine around the world. Articles may be practical, technical or experiential, though we also welcome writings that are theoretical and look at the role of ceramics within contemporary culture.
Articles should follow the style of Ceramic Review, both in length and approach. Contributors may find it useful to send a short proposal of 100 words with some images. This will allow the editor to consider the piece in relation to other articles in progress or on file and give helpful feedback.

We prefer to receive copy by e-mail or on disk. In either case a hard (paper) copy should also be sent by post. Copy should be printed on one side of the paper in double spacing, leaving good sized margins all round.

Do not send original manuscripts or photographs without keeping a copy.

Good quality photographs should accompany articles. Scroll down to Sending Images for further information.

Deadlines for articles are ongoing. Please send your proposals and images with details of any forthcoming exhibitions.

Payment is at current rates on publication.

Format

Ceramic Review welcomes good quality digital images, colour transparencies, slides and/or colour prints.
Digital Format: Preferably high resolution JPEG. Resolution: 300 dpi for approximate image size 220 x 150mm.
If using a digital camera, use maximum quality settings and provide as unedited JPEG file.

Captions

Please caption all images fully, giving name of artist, title of work, dimensions in centimetres, year of making and any technical information, such as making or decorating process and firing conditions. Indicate the correct orientation of the image where relevant (view this side, top etc.). Include your name and return address on each image and where relevant please state the name of the photographer.

Returning Images

Images submitted to the Gallery pages will be returned if they are accompanied by a stamped addressed envelope. We are sorry we are unable to acknowledge receipt of these entries.

Please do not send original photographs without keeping a copy.

Whilst every care is taken with material submitted, no responsibility can be accepted by Ceramic Review for accidental loss or damage to material sent in.
