On 13th July we will be welcoming Master Potter, Stuart Carey, for an afternoon of conversation and demonstrations. Stuart has established himself as one of the country’s leading potters, best known for his hand-thrown, semi-porcelain stoneware vessels.
During this event Stuart will give guests an insight into his craft and practice, sharing stories from his fascinating career. As well as this he will give two throwing demonstrations on the wheel, talking through each part of his making process.
Stuart will speak about his celebrated tableware collections which have won numerous design awards. He will talk about setting up the UK’s first open access pottery studio and his passion for education. As well as this he will give an insight into his roles as a senior consultant on Channel 4's "The Great Pottery Throw Down" and an on screen mentor for the BBC’s “Make It At Market”.
Throughout the afternoon Stuart will touch on many subjects as well as partaking in a Q&A session - giving guests the opportunity to ask about his work and his career.
Guests will be provided with a delicious light lunch.
