Two Day Workshop in small group of max 6 students.
What you will learn:
Design and development of larger pieces, combining wheel throwing and hand building techniques
We will be exploring different methods: slab building, coiling, throwing and Kurinuki (carving from solid blocks)
Particular emphasis on clay preparation, origination of the base, slab preparation and force drying, joint work and stability through design and troubleshooting
There will be a background introduction into Adrian's work and methods, followed by the development of students' own style of vessels or sculpture
This workshop is suitable for those with some experience working with clay who want to develop their own practice and seek their own voice and scale up their making.
Help will be given throughout the day, with additional technical information for firing and finishing.
