Crossings is an exhibition of ceramics by a group of Ireland's leading ceramists. Eleven established ceramic artists working in sculpture, functional ware and wall pieces display their work against the unique background of Kay Aplin’s architectural ceramics which cover many surfaces inside and out.
Crossings is part of EDGES, an ambitious ceramic and sound art project curated by Kay Aplin (ceramics) and Joseph Young (sound art) between Estonia, Ireland and the UK. The project began in 2022 with Peripheries, an exhibition of the results of a collaborative residency between Irish sound artists and Estonian ceramic artists and a show of Estonian ceramics that took place in May 2022 at The Ceramic House. The wider project includes international residencies in Ireland, Estonia and the UK and international exhibitions of collaborative practice at Watts Gallery, UK and Wexford Arts Centre, Ireland, continuing until 2024.
