Spend a weekend learning how to throw on a potters wheel.
Over this 2-day workshop you will learn the various stages of throwing, the process of turning a pot to create a foot-ring and finally slip decoration.
This weekend workshop will be an introduction to throwing on the wheel for complete beginners or those new to throwing on the wheel. On the first day, you will be guided step-by-step through the throwing process, from preparing clay, to centering and throwing cylinders and bowls.
On day 2 you will be able to turn your pots and learn to add a foot-ring to the base. At this stage you can also have a go at slip decoration on the wheel, to add colour to your hand-thrown pots. Whether you are a complete beginner or need refresher, by the end of the weekend you will be confident in throwing your own pots.
This workshop is limited to a maximum of 6 students and you will each have your own wheel to use for the duration of the workshop. After the workshop, we will glaze and fire your pieces ready for collection a few weeks later.
