The House Mill, Three Mills Lane, London, E3 3DU
Three artists, three ways of looking at the world. Decades of artistic and professional practice, many years of conversations as colleagues, ideas discussed and and images shared. 'Unearthed' explores connections in the work of Ruth Franklin, Sara Radstone and Kate Starkey in this, their first exhibition together.
The profoundly inspirational House Mill and its surroundings resonate with each individual's concerns: the memories embedded in objects; the obsolete and discarded brought into new life; the traces of touch and time frozen in material; thoughts and histories exhumed and reborn. This mixed display serves, fleetingly, to excavate this common ground.
Ruth Franklin, Sara Radstone and Kate Starkey have all taught for many years at the City Lit in London. Their practices embrace clay, paper and mixed media.
Sara Radstone is represented by Marsden Woo Gallery
